Feeling Empty, Sad or Down?
You could be suffering from Depression.
Feeling empty, sad or down are understandable reactions to upsetting or stressful events and experiences, it's also possible to experience these reactions for no apparent reason at all. It's when these symptoms persist that it can be a sign of depression.
From time to time we can all feel sad, miserable and fed up with where we are or who are. If you are suffering from depression breaking out of those debilitating patterns can often be hard, as we don't always see what we are doing, which is where working with a therapist comes in. Feelings of sadness can sometimes continue for weeks and even months and significantly interfere with your relationships, employment and health.

Causes of Depression
Research suggests that continuing difficulties – long-term unemployment, living in an abusive or uncaring relationship, long-term isolation or loneliness, prolonged work stress – are more likely to cause depression than recent life stresses. However, recent events (such as losing your job) or a combination of events can also ‘trigger' depression if you’re already at risk.
