Feeling Empty, Sad or Down?

You could be suffering from Depression.

Feeling empty, sad or down are understandable reactions to upsetting or stressful events and experiences, it's also possible to experience these reactions for no apparent reason at all. It's when these symptoms persist that it can be a sign of depression.

Causes of Depression

Research suggests that continuing difficulties – long-term unemployment, living in an abusive or uncaring relationship, long-term isolation or loneliness, prolonged work stress – are more likely to cause depression than recent life stresses. However, recent events (such as losing your job) or a combination of events can also ‘trigger' depression if you’re already at risk.

We Can Help!

Mark will help you develop a deeper understanding of the underlying causes of your depression by working with you to examine the feelings, thoughts and behaviours that are contributing to your depression. Therapy is about meeting your goals and learning how to cope with and ultimately grow out of your low moods and depression.
